TAB Air & Water Systems
This course prepares students to balance HVAC systems in commercial buildings through a combination of classroom learning and practical training. It covers key topics such as reading construction documents, performing air leakage tests, control sequences, hydronic and air balancing procedures, duct system effects, acoustics, kitchen ventilation, and pre-TAB planning.
Students apply this knowledge through hands-on training that includes leakage testing, troubleshooting fans, verifying control operation, measuring sound levels, and balancing multiple air and hydronic systems. With guidance from industry-expert EAB instructors, students develop the technical and analytical skills required to perform Total System Balancing.
Recommendations: TAB Fundamentals course and 2–5 years of TAB experience. Participants must have a solid understanding of instrumentation, equipment, system components, and fundamental TAB calculations (including electrical formulas, fan laws, pump laws, psychrometrics, density correction, and heat transfer).
NSF/ANSI 49 Biological Safety Cabinet Field Certifier Advanced Training
This course provides comprehensive, hands-on instruction aligned with industry standards to prepare participants for the NSF 49 written and practical exams. The course offers in-depth training on BSC design, construction, functions, installation requirements, and safe operation practices.
Participants perform advanced certification procedures through practical exercises such as site assessments and airflow testing. Training includes all major NSF primary and secondary tests, including inflow and downflow velocity testing, airflow pattern testing, HEPA filter leak testing, vibration, lighting, noise level tests, and mock gas decontamination. Calculating airflow for Type B2 cabinets is also covered.
Please note: NSF exam registration requires a separate application and fee, and must be arranged directly with NSF at least 30 days in advance. EAB Training does not guarantee exam participation
Commissioning Plumbing Systems
This course provides foundational training for individuals with limited plumbing experience. Through classroom instruction and hands-on learning, students gain the skills to complete System Verification Checklists (SVCs) and Functional Performance Tests (FPTs) for plumbing systems. Course topics include water, waste, and vent systems; piping types and joints; construction documents; medical gas systems; diesel fuel systems; and specialized water systems such as reverse osmosis, deionized water, and water softeners.
Students learn how plumbing systems and equipment function, how to verify proper installation and performance, and how to interpret construction documents. Practical training includes supervised verification exercises using a working plumbing system and assembling sample piping with common joints and materials. By course completion, participants can confidently explain and verify plumbing systems in commercial and institutional buildings.
TAB Fundamentals
This course combines classroom learning with practical experience to build a strong foundation in testing and balancing HVAC systems. Students study core topics such as thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, psychrometrics, electricity, and system safety, while also gaining a working understanding of TAB calculations and HVAC equipment.
Through hands-on exercises and daily problem-solving challenges, students develop critical technical and analytical skills. Experienced EAB instructors guide students in using professional instruments, conducting duct traverses, performing system measurements, adjusting components, and interpreting system performance data to prepare them for real-world TAB work.
